Stock Water Resistance

One of the problems I have specified is that the programme needs to be water resistant, or at least survive one exposure to water / the ocean!
So with this mind I gathered a range of promo material, one was of a thin glossy stock, 90-110gsm. Another in a more sturdy glossy stock, 150gsm and another in a sturdy matt stock. These are the photographic results.

First test, 150gsm Sturdy, gloss / satin stock. Resisted the water fairly well, ink didn't run immediately, did sock up a lot of water though. Remained tactile though.

Second test was a big fat fail! The thinner, 90gsm stock of gloss / satin finish. Ripped second after being submerged.

Final test, was a 50/50. The stock was sturdy, 150 gsm matt. It remained tactile and sturdy however, when handled and if rubbed at all the ink runs and smudges / tears away.

Conclusion.
If I am to create a traditional printed programme it would have to be on a satin / gloss stock no less that I'd say 130 gsm.
