Low Budget - New festival, need to do everything carefully considering costs.
Durability - Finding from own experiences the programme needs to be able to survive a hectic weekend, often being taken into the sea, and handled often.
Information - Again from own experiences and findings, there needs to be more than just the line up on the programme, Resort map / directions / Taxi's etc.
Solutions :
. Wall / Murial
Instead of printing any programmes, all necessary info is printed onto posters and stuck onto a made wall in middle of festival arena. This being a real possibility as at Soundwave they had set up a large wall for graffiti artists, so instead of artists you have a large set of programme posters. One off prints.
(Gives option to sell as posters for keep sakes / merch)
. Monotone Programme
Printed programme, onto a more durable stock - gloss / satin, more water resistant?? - monotone to save cost on printing.
. Downloadable PDF
Offer the programme design as a pdf on the website so people can download it and print it. If they lose it, or ruin it, can simply return at any time and print off a new one.
. Moving Target Van
Hire out leeds based advertising vans, put programmes on billboard space, drive to croatia, park vans in festival, drive back. Could be expensive to hire the whole thing.
A combination of these perhaps? To form the mega solution!
