Had our first meeting with Mark Howe today, freelance illustrator and photographer. As well as having a double page spread in the book for him as a visiting professional we have got him involved to help with the photography.
Mark was keen on some of our ideas and gave us some things to think about, we came to some decisions on how we would work together and how to go about organising him to come in.
In terms of photographing students work we have agreed to collect a number of pieces of design from everyone and come to decisions on how we want to photograph them, angles / focus / lighting. Once we have some basic decisions made concerning this we will organise a day where Mark can come in and photograph the products with us. Helping us get exactly what we want.
Thats all gravy then.
For the other aspects of photography, specifically photographing the students themselves we had some ideas of getting everyone together....
Mark really liked this idea and linked us to some of his previous work that showed the same style of lighting we wanted.
All in all really positive and helpful.
