Research Visit

Research visit concerning design context and Brief One - Nike 6.0.
BUISC - British University Indoor Snowboarding Championship.
Down at Castleford, gave me the chance to photograph a unique sponsored event as well as being a prime example of context for certain aspects of my briefs. Also a good insight into boarding culture.
There was problems with me getting out onto the snow and photographing the boxes / rails / riders close up but I did the best I could considering this.
Taking photos of banners and possible places for posters / designs etc

Above - Bar area, I've always maintained that a big part of boarding culture is drinking, snowboarding really isn't about snowboarding, more being with good people having a good time, whether that be in the bar or on the piste. Here just examples of banners around the place.

Below - Toilet doors, something that I think is a prime spot for adverts, got nothing else to look at whilst doing your business.

Below - On-piste banner, example of how sponsors work at events like these...

Below - Specific to this area, banners on the ceiling, these being used by big brand names, Trespass & Relentless.

Below - You can advertise / promote anywhere these days. An example of a Uni sports team hoody.

Below - Again another example of the sponsor banners, furthermore box's / rails. A prime location for promotion / stickers / designs of some sort!

Below- Posters / Wall mounts. Where most advertising / promotion is within the building, ranging from holiday reps to shops, to brands, all specific to snowsports. Big space to work with.

Cheeky action shot.
