Research into eyes, existing icons and pictograms...
Had some trouble trying to include a standard eye icon within the type, the problem being the oval like shape when put with most sans serif typefaces it just looks odd, so i decided to look into different ways of drawing eyes, one thing that came to mind was Manga cartoons where the eye takes a different form and less human / realistic. This kind of shape reminded me of the counter of a 'P'.
